About this conference

The HACU Annual Conference is a premier forum for sharing innovative ideas and best practices in higher education at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). It convenes leaders and stakeholders to advance institutional excellence and student success. Attendees include administrators, faculty, staff, and students from HACU-member institutions, national colleges and universities, trustees, corporations, community organizations, and federal and state agencies from across the United States, Puerto Rico, Latin America, and Spain. The three-day event features keynote speakers, discussion panels, an international plenary, a HACU Town Hall, and track sessions covering areas such as Capacity-Building for HSIs, Teaching and Learning, Student Engagement and Success, Excellence in Leadership, Federal and State Advocacy, Policy and Research, Global Engagement, and Preparing the Future Workforce. The conference also highlights graduate education, addresses policy and legislative issues, encourages student participation in various programs, and explores emerging trends like distance learning, student-centered learning, outcomes assessment, and cross-national accreditation. A concurrent !Adelante! Leadership Institute provides career and leadership development for undergraduate students, and pre- and post-conference events focus on higher education leadership, PreK-12 collaborations, and specific issues for deans and senior administrators.
