About this conference

This year's conference will feature regionally and nationally-known keynote speakers, numerous instructor-led workshops, technical sessions, panel discussions, technology demonstrations, project updates, and much more! All events are geared toward GIS/LIS students and professionals who are interested in refining their skills and learning more about GIS/LIS technologies in Minnesota and beyond. Highlights include instructor-led workshops, featuring a variety of topics; the ESRI Hands On Learning Lab (HOLL); an Exhibitor Reception featuring complimentary appetizers, a cash bar, and a variety of prizes; conference sessions covering topics such as ArcGIS Pro, Web Development, Utilities, Natural Resources, ArcGIS Online, Drones & more; a student ambassador program which waives student registration fees in exchange for assistance at the conference; a Student Presentation Competition that serves as an opportunity for Student Representatives to showcase their GIS research projects with a chance to win a cash prize; a Student GIS App Competition that serves as an opportunity for students in MN to showcase their GIS apps with a chance to win a cash prize; numerous networking opportunities including entertainment events on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday evenings, as well as a Fun Run/Walk on Friday Morning; a Mentor Program that matches GIS professionals (Mentors) with students or young professionals (Mentees) who are looking for career advice, resume review, professional stories, or conference navigation; a Vendor Hall showcasing up to 35 different Non-Profit and Professional Organizations in the GIS/LIS fields; and a free "Meet Me at the Corner" event where participants will get a brief overview of the PLSS, learn how land surveyors maintain the system, & how PLSS restoration impacts GIS and LIS.
