About this conference

The 2nd Public Health & AI Summer School, hosted by the Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona, offers an immersive, hands-on educational experience designed to equip graduate students, research staff, faculty, and public health professionals with essential skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital public health. Recognizing the critical role AI plays in modernizing public health practice, this four-day intensive program fosters deep AI literacy, bridging the gap between public health practitioners and technological innovation. Building on the success of the inaugural 2025 program, the 2026 Summer School expands its scope with two distinct learning tracks: AI Literacy, for those new to AI who want to understand the fundamentals and apply tools in their daily work, and AI Fluency, for those ready to build reproducible workflows, implement RAG systems, and deploy AI solutions. All participants will engage in afternoon AI Maker Space sessions for collaborative, real-world project work with expert guidance. Daily expert panels will explore topics ranging from health design implementation to the environmental impact of AI. Attendees can earn an official micro-credential from the University of Arizona, gaining practical skills immediately applicable to their fields.
