About this conference

As electricity demand rises rapidly, driven by factors such as AI, data centers, and widespread electrification, grid flexibility has shifted from a "nice to have" to an absolute necessity for modern utilities. This Flexible Energy Forum, co-hosted by PLMA (the leading community for flexible load management professionals) and the Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative (SECC) (the nonprofit authority on energy consumers and their relationships with electricity providers), will be held at DTECH® 2027 in Atlanta. The forum will explore the insights, strategies, and perspectives utility professionals need to navigate today's rapidly evolving energy landscape. Participants will focus on: Grid Resilience & Reliability (leveraging customer-sited DERs), Affordability (applying downward pressure on electric rates), Customer Engagement (communicating smart energy value), Optimize Outcomes (speed-to-power outcomes), and Dispatchable vs. Structural Flexibility (coordinating residential DERs and demand response). The event aims to explore the nexus of grid operations and customer engagement to chart a path to a more flexible and affordable energy future. It includes lunch and a cocktail reception. More information is coming this fall.
