About this conference
The 2027 Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in STEM is hosted by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for STEM Education (EDU). In alignment with updated 2026 NSF priorities, the conference aims to provide professional development for all college and university undergraduate and graduate students, particularly minorities, persons with disabilities, and women, studying any STEMM discipline. Its objectives include enhancing science communication skills and preparing students for science careers in a global workforce. The 2.5-day conference format includes student poster and oral presentations, alongside workshops focused on strategies for applying to and funding graduate programs, career preparation for employment searches and retention, and understanding global STEM careers and international research and education opportunities for students and faculty.
