2026 WIEA Annual Conference

The 2026 WIEA Annual Conference, themed "Balancing Our Cultural Evolution," invites attendees to explore the harmonious integration of tradition and innovation. This year’s conference highlights how cultural identity provides grounding while education and technology propel progress. Focus areas include the revitalization of language and community practices, alongside the integration of digital tools such as gaming, 3D imaging, and new teaching methodologies. The gathering aims to demonstrate how balance fosters strength, providing a vital space for educators, leaders, and learners of all ages to connect, share, and envision a future where culture and technology evolve synergistically. Organized by the Wisconsin Indian Education Association (WIEA), a non-profit established in 1985 to promote educational opportunities for Indian people in Wisconsin, this conference is the only state event specifically addressing Native American educational issues. It convenes community members, both Indian and non-Indian educators, businesses, and organizations, and actively engages with Wisconsin's state legislators and governing bodies on matters pertinent to Indian education.
