About this conference
The 2026 VitAL Annual Conference brings together professionals, advocates, and changemakers from across Alabama to share ideas, inspire action, and strengthen collective impact in behavioral health. The conference focuses on enhancing well-being through prevention and intervention for individuals with mental illness (MI) and/or substance use disorder (SUD), as well as supporting those in recovery and their communities. It aims to change perspectives by increasing knowledge, reducing stigma, and normalizing conversations around behavioral health issues. Attendees can expect dynamic keynote speakers, practical workshops, and networking opportunities. Tracks include School-Based & Youth, First Responder Resilience, Ethics, Leadership & Professional Practice, Trauma & Adversity, Justice-Involved, Treatment & Recovery, and Innovation, Integration & Emerging Practices. The sessions are designed to reflect integrated, person-centered approaches, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and improved outcomes across diverse populations and settings, with strategies applicable to current professions.
