About this conference
The Summit is an opportunity to collaborate on Tribal priorities, strengthen partnerships, and discuss important coastal and ocean issues affecting Tribal Nations. The Tribal Summit will bring together Tribal Nations from Washington, Oregon, and California as well as First Nation and/or Alaska Speakers to connect about ocean issues that are important to them. Attendance at this meeting is limited to Tribal Leaders, staff and experts. This event will provide a unique opportunity for Tribes using, stewarding and connected to the California Current to share, listen, and build strategies to sustain their culture, economies and in the face of changes to ocean conditions as well as ongoing and new uses (energy, fishing, marine carbon dioxide removal, seabed mining, etc.). This event will support ongoing Tribal Caucus conversations around science, partnership, management and sovereignty for intergovernmental meetings, WCOA gatherings and projects.
