2026 Summer Leadership Convening

Chief state school officers are in a unique position to build and sustain a modernized system that improves student outcomes and meets student needs in years ahead. Yet state leaders are often tasked with managing uncertainty and unpredictability as the landscape continues to change. At each step, state leaders make decisions with incomplete information while simultaneously building trust and showing evidence of impact. During this convening, education leaders will spend time considering their role as leaders and the skills and competencies needed to stay focused on the most impactful priorities they have identified to improve student outcomes. Attendees can expect an intimate setting for meaningful conversation, expert-led sessions introducing new perspectives and ideas, and time for reflection on leadership approach and impact on student outcomes.
