About this conference
The Smithsonian National Education Summit is a three-day professional learning event celebrating the nation's semi-quincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The theme, "Together We Thrive: Towards a More Perfect Union," invites participants to explore the stories that shaped the nation and future possibilities. The summit aims to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and provide practical strategies and fresh inspiration for learners. Attendees will gain actionable strategies and fresh perspectives for various learning environments, with sessions available both in-person in Washington, D.C., and online globally. In-person attendees will have access to exclusive, hands-on workshops and behind-the-scenes tours. The program includes inspiring keynotes, dynamic sessions, and a shared commitment to empowering the next generation. PreK-12 educators, librarians, media specialists, and policymakers will participate in sessions exploring four distinct track themes: Cultivating the Power of Dialogue, Designing STEAM Solutions for Civic Challenges, Leveraging the Arts as Civic Voice, and Placing History in Context.
