2026 School Bus Driver International Safety Competition

The 52nd Edition of the School Bus Driver International Safety Competition (SBDISC), sponsored by the National School Transportation Association (NSTA), will be held on June 27-28, 2026, in Austin, TX. This event aims to showcase the best school bus drivers in North America to school administrators, teachers, parents, students, school boards, and the general public. Local champions from the USA and Canada will gather to showcase their knowledge and driving skills. The competition includes a written test and a driving course component. Participants will check in, undergo orientation, and complete a written test at the Austin Marriott Downtown on Saturday, June 27. The driving event will take place at Hays CISD on Sunday, June 28. An Awards Reception & Dinner will be held on Sunday evening, June 28, at the Austin Marriott Downtown. The competition highlights the skills and professionalism of school bus drivers and seeks to spur interest in the profession. Hays CISD serves as the permanent competition site, providing a robust course and infrastructure.
