About this conference
The 2026 QTEL Summer Institutes are professional development programs for educators focused on enhancing expertise to engage English Learners and all students in deep, generative learning. Participants will experience powerful learning models applicable to school practices that cultivate global competencies and academic development. Course offerings for the Austin institute include: Building the Base K--5 (An Integrated Approach to Literacy across the Content Areas), Building the Base (Secondary ELA/SS), and Leadership in English Learner Education. These offerings are designed to strengthen educator expertise, improve outcomes for all learners, and provide research-backed strategies for deepening student understanding, strengthening literacy and writing instruction, and supporting English Learners in achieving academic success.
