About this conference
The National Johnson-O'Malley Association (NJOMA) conference is dedicated to advocating for Native students and Indian education. The 2026 conference, themed "Our Roots Ground Us, Our Spirit Drives Us," emphasizes over 30 years of consistent advocacy, the crucial impact of student resiliency (mentally, spiritually, and physically), and the importance of Indigenous leaders ensuring their voices are heard within Indian education. The conference focuses on supporting Johnson-O'Malley programs and championing the rights of Indian children from ages 3 through twelfth grade. Daily attire themes include Indigenous Dress to Impress on Monday, T-Shirt Day on Tuesday, and Walk Your Mocs on Wednesday.
