About this conference
The Iowa Library Association's Leadership Institute is a comprehensive leadership development program designed for library professionals who aspire to take on more challenges, are new to leadership roles, or seek a professional development cohort. The institute focuses on cultivating leadership skills from within, regardless of current title. Participants will engage in activities aimed at recognizing their leadership potential, developing confidence as change agents, assessing personal leadership styles, making effective decisions, finding creative solutions for Iowa libraries, and connecting with a supportive network of successful library leaders. The 2026 Institute will feature Heather Woody, exploring topics such as difficult conversations, emotional intelligence, and trustworthy leadership. The program provides professional development relevant to modern library leaders.
