2026 Law Enforcement Chaplains Conference

The Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Chaplains’ Division was created to promote the availability of chaplains to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of the sheriffs and their staff, families, and members of the community. Every year the Division offers a conference for chaplains who serve their Sheriff as a law enforcement chaplain. This year’s training will include the ADVANCED and BASIC course, focusing on 20-hour Basic and Advanced Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Training. Certified deputies will receive P.O.S.T. credit according to the hours attended. The conference aims to equip chaplains to minister to the staff of the sheriff's office and other law enforcement agencies effectively, providing services such as spiritual counseling, death notification, post-shooting counseling, disaster response, family relationship enhancement, weddings, memorial services, and post-traumatic stress counseling. Attendees are required to obtain approval from their Sheriff or Public Safety Agency head.
