2026 Institute

The Institute program is the core of IMTA's educational programs. Held every November, this four-day learning experience is designed for treasury professionals to gain essential skills. Established in 1981, the program meets certification requirements for both the state CIMT and national CPFA (administered by APT US&C). Its curriculum, developed in cooperation with the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada (APT US&C), addresses a wide range of topics. It offers intensive continuing professional education for municipal treasurers, general finance officers, and certified public accountants. Attendees can choose how they participate based on experience level, with newer members typically attending the full program and those with CIMT certification attending a portion.
