2026 CSBA-ACSA Coast2Coast Federal Advocacy Trip

Join CSBA and ACSA for the fifth annual Coast2Coast Federal Advocacy Trip in Washington, D.C., where California governance team members—school and county board members and superintendents—will spotlight issues impacting nearly 6 million students. This three-day event begins with sessions on California-specific education policy, insider briefings on federal politics, networking with D.C. leaders, and discussions with top policymakers. It concludes with advocacy meetings with California's congressional representatives. Coast2Coast is where California leaders show up. Federal advocacy is not optional when decisions in D.C. determine what Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) can deliver for students in California. Federal decisions in 2026 will influence: what resources districts and county offices can count on; how technology and student data are regulated; whether local flexibility is enhanced or limited; and what expectations are placed on schools. Coast2Coast provides the structure and support for education leaders to engage effectively, offering a unified message, strategic preparation and direct meetings with federal officials and congressional offices to protect student interests, provide local perspective, preserve local control, and produce results for local schools.
