About this conference
The International Homicide Investigators Association (IHIA) and the Texas Attorney General's Office - Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit will host the 2nd Annual Cold Case Conference from April 13-15, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. This 3-day conference will feature presentations from numerous experts in cold case investigations, prosecutors, and lab personnel. Topics include case studies (e.g., Yogurt Shop Murders, South Dallas Rapist IGG Presentation), Digital Forensics Highlights, Cold Case Funding Strategies, Science-Based Interviewing, Cold Case Lab Capabilities, and updates on Fingerprint Technologies. The event offers networking opportunities and TCOLE credits for investigators and prosecutors. It is designed for law enforcement officials and those working directly with law enforcement, with eligibility for others vetted by the IHIA board. The Texas AG's office also provides various resources to local agencies, such as investigative assistance, task force case reviews, connections with forensic experts, training opportunities, digital forensics and phone data analysis, funding for forensic testing, and legal support.
