Join us on the shores of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a landmark event---ASFPM's 50th Annual National Conference, themed: 'The Fresh Coast Legacy: 50 Years of Floodplain Management.' This milestone event celebrates five decades of progress in flood risk reduction and community resilience across the nation. Conference highlights include over 200 concurrent sessions led by experts, field tours and hands-on workshops for real-world solutions, robust networking opportunities with professionals, policymakers, and partners, and inspiring plenary sessions. Session topics cover Mitigation, Modeling, Mapping, NFIP, Dams and Levees, Risk Communication, Extreme Weather Trends, Natural and Beneficial Functions, and Whole Community Approach. In-person attendees can also access 14 in-depth workshops covering topics like Floodplain Management 101, Strategic Foresight for Future Flood Risks, FEMA Benefit-Cost Analysis, Hands-On HEC-RAS 2D, Nonstructural Mitigation, Elevation Certificates, Practical AI for Readiness and Governance, and Advocacy. Technical field tours will showcase Milwaukee's innovative flood management and restoration efforts, including Menomonee River Flood Management, Milwaukee River fish passage and dam removal, Kinnickinnic River & Honey Creek Restoration, Great Lakes Coastal Resilience, Green Stormwater Infrastructure, Fresh Coast Legacy Boat Tour, and Valhalla Wetlands Site Tour. The conference provides a valuable experience for professionals, policymakers, decision-makers, and partners from local, state, federal, academic, and private sectors. The conference will take place at the newly expanded Baird Center, a LEED Gold-certified facility that recently completed a $456 million modernization---providing state-of-the-art space for the sessions, exhibit hall, and networking events that are the heart of the ASFPM experience. The depth and diversity of perspectives---from local, state, federal, academic, and private-sector partners---is part of what makes this conference so impactful.
