2026 Annual TAPEIT Conference

The Texas Association of Property and Evidence Inventory Technicians (TAPEIT) conference offers updated resources and training in all areas regarding the storage, processing, analyzing, and ultimate disposition of criminal evidence and other property in the custody of law enforcement agencies. The conference aims to promote professional education, laws, rules, and guidelines for maintaining the integrity, chain of custody, and disposal of property and evidence. Goals include education and training, advocating for changes in laws with clear interpretation, fostering agreement between District Attorney's Offices and local law enforcement agencies on property disposal, establishing court notification time limits for property disposition, and providing examples of standard operating procedures.
