2026 ALISE Annual Conference

The 2026 ALISE Annual Conference, themed "The Good Questions," will explore the critical role of inquiry in education, learning, teaching, information seeking, sensemaking, and knowledge generation within Library and Information Science (LIS). The conference seeks to understand what makes a question "good" and how questions contribute to responsible, informed participation in society. It will feature discussions on epistemology, ethics, learning, instruction, culture, and praxis as they relate to inquiry in LIS education and practice, including in AI systems. The event aims to expand programming to include undergraduate teaching, curriculum design, and student learning. It welcomes research papers, panels, practitioner reports, posters, creative works, and workshops from LIS faculty and practitioners in universities, schools, archives, galleries, and museums.
