West Corners Fire District

The public hearing is regarding the proposed budget of the West Corners Fire District for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2020. The budget includes estimates of revenues and expenditures, taxation calculations, general funds, capital and other reserve accounts, debt servicing, employee expenses, and fire protection funds. Citizens have the right to provide written and oral comments and ask questions concerning the entire proposed budget.

The West Corners Fire District authorized the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $57,450 from the "Building Reserve Acct NBT" for professional engineering services provided by Delta Engineers, Architects & Surveyors. These services are for the West Corners Fire Department Station 1 Parking Reconstruction and Backup Generator.

The Board of Fire Commissioners resolved to authorize the expenditure of up to $120,000 from the Fire Apparatus Equipment Account 2 reserve fund for purchasing two District Chief's vehicles and related equipment. The vehicles are specified as Chevrolet Tahoes. The resolution is subject to permissive referendum as per General Municipal Law § 6-g.

The West Corners Fire District authorized expending an amount not to exceed $750,000.00 for the purchase a new Custom Fire Pumper Apparatus from the Fire App Equip Reserve NBT fund. This resolution and expenditure are subject to a permissive referendum.

The Board of Fire Commissioners authorized the expenditure of funds from the Grant Reserve Fund and Building Reserve Fund for the purchase of a vehicle exhaust extraction system in conjunction with the 2016 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The Fire District Treasurer is authorized to withdraw funds from the Grant Reserve fund for the costs of purchasing the vehicle exhaust extraction system and related equipment and to reimburse the Building reserve fund to pay for the installation of the vehicle exhaust extraction system and associated costs upon completion by the contractor(s).
