Upper Blue Sanitation District

The Upper Blue Sanitation District (UBSD) announced that there would be no fee increases for the sixth consecutive year. The Upper Blue Sanitation District Board of Directors adopted the 2016 budget without increasing fees for the fifth consecutive year. The district operates without property taxes, adhering to a "pay as you go" philosophy. The board approved an intergovernmental agreement with Summit County, providing a $1 million fee credit for the county to use on housing and other public projects. The district offers financing for abandoning septic systems and connecting to its treatment facilities to protect public health and reduce pollution. Sump pumps are forbidden to prevent overloading treatment facilities. The district will conduct its biennial election on May 3, 2016, to select three board members.
