Town of Fifield

The board reviewed and approved the clerk/treasurer report, including balance sheet and profit and loss statements. Discussion included the 2024 budget closeout process, increased costs in the contract with the Town of Flambeau for Fire and EMS services, Ordinance No. 87 Road Standards (road width, culverts, cul-de-sacs, and road signs), the cost of repairing Christmas decorations, and a meeting with the Town of Lac du Flambeau regarding gas tax collection. The board also reviewed options for new playground equipment, and correspondence from Xcel Energy and the Wisconsin Towns Association. Paid invoices were reviewed.

The board meeting addressed various topics, including resident requests for past meeting minutes and the potential use of town property for a community garden. Financial reports for the cemetery were reviewed, along with a cooperative agreement with the Town of Eisenstein and a loan extension for the Walnut Street project. Fire department reports covered cleaning contracts and new equipment. The town crew discussed replacing a dump truck box and ongoing projects. Reports were also given on transfer sites and a proposed speed limit reduction on Fish Trap Road. Discussions were held on VRBO licensing and fees, and the Sno-Drovers snowmobile club. Planning for a road tour, crack seal bids, and playground equipment fundraising were also addressed. Finally, the board acknowledged the service of a town supervisor.
