Ticonderoga Fire District NO 1

The Ticonderoga Planning and Zoning Board reviewed and approved several applications. Approvals included a digital sign for I360 Limited, new construction of town homes for Parkview at Ticonderoga LLC, and a temporary drive-through for Arrow Bank. The board also discussed covenants related to property expansion and considered road access issues. Additionally, the board nominated a chairman for the upcoming year.

The agenda includes resolutions for various topics such as the Chilson Volunteer Fire Department annual contract for 2026, the purchase of a snow pusher, closing several Crammond Farms accounts, sending Axel Dedrick to a Basic Laboratory course, declaring Water/Sewer Department items as surplus, accepting the resignation of James Chauncey, advertising for a Recreation Supervisor, approving a Memorandum of Agreement with the United Federation of Police Officers Local #476, budget transfers, budget adjustments, inter-fund transfers, inter-fund loans, advertising for a Planning and Zoning Board member and an MEO for the Highway Department, adding members to the Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance Board of Directors, publishing an announcement regarding completion of the annual financial report, waiving the 30-day notification period for a liquor license application, executing application and certification for payment for the Police Officer Conversion, issuing a Substantial and Final Completion of the Ticonderoga Police Station Renovation project, the 2026 Town of Ticonderoga Property & Casualty Insurance Proposal, scheduling a Public Hearing for the Increase and Improvement of the Facilities of Ticonderoga Sewer Districts, accepting the minutes of previous meetings, paying the Abstract, and accepting the Supervisor's Report. Discussions will be held on CHPE PILOT vs HCA, Long Term Control Plan next steps, and illegal dumping at the airport.

The meeting included discussions on the budget workshop, statistics for the month, and desired changes to the library plans. A motion was made to add Treasurer to the By-Laws under Officers. The Library will set up a table with trivia questions about Ticonderoga History at the Farmers Market. The Library is planning a Halloween program. Sculptures for the Enchanted Storybook Garden will be arriving the end of Oct. The Director of CEFLS has scheduled a zoom session on Sexual Harassment Training. The long-range plans need to be updated to include information about the expansion. The Carnegie Place project was discussed. There was a question about whether the Harassment Training workshop would be available online. A question arose about the issue of censorship and banning of materials. The CEFLS oversees Construction grants from the State.

The Black Watch Memorial Library Board of Trustees meeting included discussions on the Summer Program, a grant-sponsored pre-licensing course, and upcoming Sexual Harassment Training. The Library By-Laws were amended regarding the number of board members. Plans for library carpet cleaning and the Expansion Committee's review of architectural plans were addressed. The Carnegie Place project was discussed, including tree removal quotes and environmental assessments.

The Ticonderoga Planning and Zoning Board held a meeting that included a public hearing regarding 53 Mossy Point Road, focusing on the demolition of an existing camp and the construction of a new home. The board addressed an area variance request, stormwater management, and compliance with APA and Town Zoning requirements. Additionally, the board discussed a request from Nicole Justice Green of NRDC for a special meeting concerning an application for 108 Montcalm Street, Newberry Commons Project, including considerations for an Area Variance and Site Plan Review.
