Tea Volunteer Fire Department

This Comprehensive Plan serves as a framework for future planning decisions and growth management for the City of Tea, South Dakota. Its primary purpose is to guide orderly and efficient growth and development by providing policies for land use control, infrastructure development, and public/private investment predictability through the year 2030. The plan focuses on strategic pillars including focusing new development within existing city limits, directing growth into designated areas, constructing and upgrading major street systems, improving community services and facilities, conserving neighborhoods, and enhancing land use planning. It aims to improve the physical environment, promote public interest, and ensure the health, safety, and quality of life for its citizens while fostering intergovernmental collaboration.

The council reviewed and accepted the 2025 Police Department Annual Report. Key business included the approval of the purchase of a new Ventrac tractor and the authorization of the City of Sioux Falls Joint Slurry Seal Project for the city's portion. Additionally, the council reviewed and approved the payment of outstanding warrants.

The board conducted hearings for property valuation appeals, including cases where owners disputed cost approaches or provided documentation for valuation adjustments. Additionally, the board approved several administrative changes to property classifications and valuations, and formally approved the 2026 Assessor's Roll.
