Scott County Soil Conservation District

The meeting addressed several topics, including the selection of scholarship winners, an update on the Tree/Native Plant sale, and an IDALS Financial Audit. There was discussion regarding IRS notices and a request to IDALS for NACD grant reimbursement. The IDALS financial review summary of recommendations letter was reviewed, and a policy on the District Debit Card was discussed. Staff changes were noted, and a discussion was held about hiring staff for the Davenport Field Office. Additionally, EQIP applications were reviewed, and plans were made for native planting at the office.

The meeting included updates such as the CDI Update and discussion regarding cost share payments. The election results for District Commissioners were reviewed, and the Oath of Office was signed by some members. The board discussed the Certificate of Time Deposit, NACD dues, and the Summer Internship Program. IFIP funds being recalled, REAP funds, and Budget and Finance matters were reported. Staff reports covered EQIP and CSP Federal Programs, cover crop seeding dates, and a cover crop meeting. Plans were made for Jan's retirement celebration.

The meeting included updates from the CDI Connections newsletter, discussion regarding cost share applications, and an amendment to Jerry Stoefen's application. Commissioners were reminded to submit their affidavit of candidacy paperwork, and Tracey Kuehl was appointed as Assistant Commissioner. The Annual Financial Review Report will be reviewed for approval at the September meeting. A producer's windbreak consideration was discussed, and McClurg was approved to provide Slough Bill and Urban Cost Share training for Wise. The Lower Cedar Watershed meeting was reported on, and a donation request letter will be sent to the Commissioners.
