The meeting included the election of a new chairperson and third member for the committee. Staff provided an overview of Economic Development Activities, highlighting the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding for programs such as commercial loans, small business loans, and job training assistance, alongside the introduction of a new mapping tool to verify business eligibility. The committee also held an annual planning session, reaching a consensus on the meeting schedule, deciding to transition the meeting platform to Zoom Webinar for improved security, and electing a new Chair and Co-Chair.

The board conducted elections for the positions of Chair and Vice Chair, both of which were filled for new terms. The members also elected the Governance Committee members. Additionally, staff provided project updates regarding the Resiliency Residency artists and implemented procedural changes for the Zoom Webinar platform. Various announcements were shared, including information about upcoming local awards and community events.

The meeting focused on the selection of Datura Village by Sunlight Properties LLC as the awardee for a land disposal request for proposal, authorizing the start of development agreement negotiations. The commission also approved a six-month extension for continued Development and Disposition Agreement negotiations for the Cosecha project by Sol Housing, LLC. Additionally, the commission received an update from the MRA Director regarding ongoing projects and initiatives.
