Board meetings and strategic plans from Pace Suburban Bus Division Of The Regional Transportation Auth
The ReVision Draft Plan, developed by Pace Suburban Bus, outlines a comprehensive strategy to transform the Chicago region's suburban bus network. The plan proposes a significant 50% increase in service levels, focusing on enhancing route frequency, expanding geographical coverage, and extending operating hours into weekends and evenings. Guided by the NITA Act and public feedback, this plan balances ridership growth with service coverage to improve transit utility, reduce travel times, and broaden access to essential destinations like jobs, schools, and shopping for residents across the region.
The Board discussed the transition to the Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA), including its impact on board structure and advisory groups. Outgoing directors reflected on their tenure and offered guidance for the incoming board. The Executive Director provided updates on service improvements, ridership analysis, marketing initiatives, and recent ribbon-cutting events. The board approved resolutions honoring retiring directors, authorized a marketing contract with Gatesman, Inc., adopted amended bylaws, selected a new lead director, and reviewed pilot service changes for McHenry County routes.
