The Minot International Airport Master Plan's Aviation Forecasts chapter analyzes current and future airport activity over a 20-year period to determine future facility needs. It provides detailed forecasts for commercial aviation (passenger airlines, air cargo, air taxi), based aircraft, and general aviation operations, considering economic factors and industry trends. The plan aims to guide development based on projected growth and activity levels through 2034.
The Minot International Airport Master Plan serves as a comprehensive guide for future development, evaluating various alternatives across critical functional areas. Key focus areas include airfield infrastructure (runways, taxiways), passenger terminal improvements (e.g., QTA, parking), general aviation facilities, landside development, and essential support facilities (e.g., ARFF, SRE). The plan aims to provide an airport facility that effectively meets the community's vision and needs, remains flexible to industry changes, and ensures enhanced operational performance and safety over a multi-decade planning horizon.
This document is an appendix to the Minot International Airport Master Plan, detailing the comprehensive Alternatives Analysis. The analysis involved evaluating various airfield configurations and development options across different airport regions (Airfield, East, South, Terminal, West, North). Key focus areas included addressing geometry and configuration issues for Taxiway B and Runway 8, ensuring compliance with FAA design standards, and enhancing airport safety and operational efficiency. The intended outcome is to optimize airport usability through a systematically evaluated preferred alternative.
