This document outlines the Hartley Independent School District's District of Innovation Plan Renewal, which aims to provide increased flexibility and local control by seeking exemptions from specific provisions of the Texas Education Code. Key areas of innovation include modifying the first day of instruction for a flexible academic calendar, establishing local teacher certification guidelines to expand course offerings, extending probationary contract periods for experienced new employees for more thorough evaluation, and adjusting teacher contract days to improve morale and facilitate professional development. Additionally, the plan seeks flexibility in providing group health coverage to employees.

The meeting reviewed the current Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan. No changes or additions to the plan were proposed, and the current plan was renewed.

The meeting agenda includes amending the budget (if needed), reviewing bills and finance reports, reviewing enrollment and activity fund reports, reviewing maintenance reports/buses, approving the Parent and Family Engagement Policy, approving the District Improvement Committee, Attendance Committee, and SHAC Committee, approving the District Improvement Plan, discussing the District Vulnerability Assessment Full Report, discussing complaints against personnel and the school, discussing staffing for next year, setting the date and time for the next board meeting, and determining agenda items for the next regular board meeting.

The meeting will include discussion and action on the consent agenda, including bills, finance reports, enrollment, activity funds, and maintenance reports. The board will consider hiring for a Jr. High English position, discuss staffing for the next school year, review a construction project report, and approve the Texas Academic Performance Report and the 2021-2022 audit report. The superintendent's salary and contract will be considered, along with setting the date and time for the next meeting.
