This document outlines the Hartley Independent School District's District of Innovation Plan Renewal, which aims to provide increased flexibility and local control by seeking exemptions from specific provisions of the Texas Education Code. Key areas of innovation include modifying the first day of instruction for a flexible academic calendar, establishing local teacher certification guidelines to expand course offerings, extending probationary contract periods for experienced new employees for more thorough evaluation, and adjusting teacher contract days to improve morale and facilitate professional development. Additionally, the plan seeks flexibility in providing group health coverage to employees.

The meeting reviewed the current Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan. No changes or additions to the plan were proposed, and the current plan was renewed.
