Geneseo Park District

This document outlines the Geneseo Park District's yearly goals for 2026, which are set forth by its Master Plan and address specific areas of need. The plan aims to enhance the quality of life and provide positive recreational experiences for the community. Key strategic pillars include improving administrative processes, expanding and strengthening recreation programs and services, optimizing facility management and sustainability, and addressing long-term objectives such as community center development, financial stability, and capital replacement planning.

This document details the Geneseo Park District's 2025 goals and long-term objectives, which are informed by its 2023 Master Plan. The plan is designed to enhance community quality of life through positive recreational experiences, focusing on key areas such as Administrative efficiency, Facilities improvements, and Recreation program development. Strategic initiatives include operational enhancements, infrastructure upgrades, new program offerings, and financial sustainability, supported by long-term capital planning and community engagement efforts.

The committee members shared positive feedback on the Storybook Theater program and the Aquatic Center staff. Discussions included locker room cleaning, parking lot speed strips, and issues with steep wall ladders at the Indoor Pool. The possibility of offering the Silver Sneakers program was explored, and updates were provided on the July Bootcamp. Staff announced the approval of Phase I of the construction project, which includes a new storage area and office space. The Park District is partnering to reinstate a Senior and Active Adult Expo. The Aquatic Center's closing date was announced, and plans to repaint the Activity and Lap pools were shared.

The Geneseo Park District's 2017-2022 Strategic Plan aims to enhance community quality of life by providing positive recreational experiences and opportunities. The plan is structured around four key strategic initiatives: revitalizing and expanding aging facilities, enhancing resident experiences at programs and events, strengthening community relationships and increasing awareness, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability. The overarching goal is to achieve operational success and foster increased community pride.
