THE PROJECT consists of furnishing all materials and equipment and performing all labor necessary to upgrade and expand the Hightower Water Treatment Plant and related equipment and appurtenances to a total treatment capacity of 6.9 million gallons per day. The project generally consists of the following major components of work and appurtenances: Expansion and Modification of the WTP Raw Water Intake & Pump Station; Creek Reservoir Flow Control Structure; New Sedimentation Basin Mechanical Sludge Removal Equipment; Modernization of Gravity Filters No. 1 - 4; New Bulk Chemical Feed Facilities for Phosphate and Sodium Permanganate; New Chlorine Feed Application Points Upstream of Filters; Upgrades to Existing Chemical Feed Facilities; Clearwell No. 2 Piping Modifications; Miscellaneous Piping Upgrades and Modifications; Electrical and Instrumentation Upgrades and Modifications; and Related Equipment and Appurtenances Detailed in the Specifications and Shown on the Contract Drawings.

THE PROJECT consists of the following major elements: Retrofit an existing NRCS flood control dam (known as River Watershed Structure No. 13) into a pumped storage reservoir from the River, with elements including the following: a. Construction of a 110' high earthen dam to replace the existing 50' high flood control dam. b. Construction of a riser structure and principal spillway which includes two pipe spillways and a section of tunnel excavation c. Construction of a 300-foot earthen auxiliary spillway. d. Construction of stormwater channels and erosion control features. e. All necessary and required appurtenances and erosion and sedimentation control for a complete project.
