This Artificial Intelligence Strategy outlines the Department of the Air Force's roadmap to secure AI dominance, strengthen readiness, and modernize its Air and Space Forces. The strategy aims to transform the organization into an AI-first force, enhancing decision superiority and operational agility through human-machine teaming. Key strategic imperatives include unleashing data power, fostering an AI-first culture, building an enterprise AI ecosystem, driving agile adoption, and modernizing assurance. These objectives are operationalized through five foundational building blocks: data, technology, and infrastructure; talent and workforce development; partnerships; change management; and AI governance, all designed to enhance multi-domain operations, readiness, sustainment, enterprise optimization, training, and modernization.

The DAF Data and AI Strategies provide a strategic roadmap for the Department of the Air Force to become an AI-first force, operationalizing data and AI as decisive force multipliers and strategic assets. The plan aims to accelerate enterprise and combat capabilities, ensuring decisive decision advantage over adversaries by emphasizing a decentralized data architecture and AI priorities across various mission areas. The intended outcome is to empower warfighters, out-maneuver adversaries, and maintain air and space dominance, aligning with the 2026 National Defense Strategy and advancing the CDAO's FY2026 goal.

The Assumption of Command ceremony marked the official appointment of Brigadier General Robert K. Bogart as the new commander of the 711th Human Performance Wing. The proceedings included ceremonial military traditions and addresses regarding the wing's current initiatives, such as the Continuous Fitness Assessment study for the Space Force, a missile community cancer study, the development of mobile medical documentation tools for point-of-injury care, and collaborative research with NASA for Artemis space missions. The incoming commander emphasized the importance of human capital and committed to the continued implementation of the wing's strategic plan.

The ceremony marked the transition of command of the 2nd Bomb Wing from Colonel Scott P. Wier to Colonel Michael D. Mcginness. The event included remarks from the Commander of the 8th Air Force, the presentation of the Legion of Merit to Colonel Wier, and the formal change of command.

The briefing session focused on the primary challenges associated with the rapid delivery of cutting-edge technology through the acquisition pipeline. Participants discussed the disparity between the speed of information technology advancements and the traditional acquisition cycle, the necessity of navigating the valley of death, and the importance of integrated science teams. Additional discussion topics included the role of instrumentation, the impact of existing network operations, the need to prioritize requirements, and the future potential of machine learning applications in systems development.
