A new one-story Airport Rescue Firefighting Facility (ARFF) will be constructed to support the operations and staff of the Glynn County Fire Rescue (GCFR). This facility will encompass approximately 8,781 square feet. It features three apparatus bays, with a bid additive alternate design for a fourth bay. The masonry and steel framed building will have a stucco finish on concrete masonry units (CMU) and a 4-foot precast concrete veneer panel wainscot on the front façade. Both the main building and apparatus bays will have a low-slope insulated TPO roof with an internal drainage system. The main entrance will feature a tower element with a metal Spanish tile panel roof, reminiscent of the existing ARFF facility and the portico at the terminal building. All exterior windows and storefront systems will use insulated, laminated impact-resistant glazing within extruded aluminum frames. Impact-resistant drywall will be used in common and high-traffic areas to ensure durability. Epoxy flooring in the apparatus bays. The building will be fully sprinkered, with HVAC and with diesel emergency generator. The site will include paving and parking.
