The board conducted public information meetings regarding a rezoning application for the Estero Fire expansion and a proposed redevelopment project for the former Regal Coconut Point Mall theater. Public hearings were held to consider an administrative amendment for outdoor consumption at the Bonita Smoke Shop and Cigar Lounge, which was approved, and a proposed amendment to the Land Development Code regarding landscaping and development order expirations, which the board recommended for denial.

The board discussed the selection of a paint color palette for a retail site, the proposed construction of a self-storage facility, and a redevelopment proposal for a residential apartment project. Additionally, an update was provided by consultants regarding the Eco Historic Planning Study.

The council adopted the first amendments to interlocal agreements regarding fire impact fees with the Estero Fire Rescue District and the San Carlos Park Fire Protection & Rescue Services District. Approval was granted for a contract change order to provide professional services for the River Ranch Road traffic calming and safety improvements, as well as a first amendment to a service agreement with Kemper Sports Management LLC. Additionally, the council adopted an ordinance amending the Village Land Development Code related to non-conforming lots.

The board received numerous public comments regarding two main topics: a rezoning proposal for a development on Corkscrew Road and the proposed exterior paint color schemes for The Tides at Pelican Landing condominiums. Public opposition to the rezoning cited concerns regarding environmental impacts, increased traffic congestion, and neighborhood compatibility. Regarding the paint permit, residents expressed significant dissatisfaction with the selection of gray and green color palettes, requesting instead that the board prioritize traditional Mediterranean color schemes consistent with the surrounding Estero area and expressing frustration over a perceived lack of meaningful community input.
