The committee also approved an application for temporary licensure and an application for retired status. Additionally, committee members discussed their attendance at a workshop regarding emerging technology, policy, and professional licensure, with a specific focus on the role of artificial intelligence in surveying and geographic information systems.

The meeting primarily involved the presentation of the Continuing Education Committee report to the full board for review and approval. There was no old or new business conducted during the session.

The meeting covered disciplinary proceedings, including informal hearings for licensed professionals and requests for reconsideration regarding survey reviews and continuing education requirements. The Board received reports from the Prosecutor, the Probable Cause Panel, and the Executive Director, who discussed current licensing statistics, recent legislative session outcomes, and NCEES committee updates concerning fraudulent digital activities in the profession. The Board also addressed a request for a declaratory statement, which was denied, and held a discussion regarding the potential decoupling of exams.

The committee meeting addressed the issue of licensed surveyors serving as principal officers for multiple business entities, noting that the board will implement a process for ongoing review of corporate records to ensure compliance with Florida Statutes. Planning for the 2027-2029 renewal cycle and the distribution of a summer newsletter regarding licensing requirements was also discussed. Additionally, the committee reviewed and approved proposed changes to rules concerning examination requirements for Principles and Practices, Public Land Survey System, and grading criteria, with further discussion on future rulemaking for the Geospatial Examination.

The committee held a probation review session where the Probation Summary report was presented. The committee conducted individual survey reviews for four licensees on active probation status. Actions taken included failing the survey submissions for three individuals, who will remain on probation, and passing the survey submissions for one individual, resulting in their removal from probation.
