The Americanism/Civics Hearing included a presentation of the district's current curriculum as it applies to Americanism and Civics. The regular board meeting involved discussions regarding district policies, approval of updated Nebraska Science standards, approval of an elementary special education teaching position, approval of overnight travel request for the High School Varsity volleyball camp, approval of a 2.25% increase for the returning building level principals, district level administrators and the Superintendent of Schools. The districts' transportation needs and solutions were presented, and approval was granted for the trade-in of vehicles and the purchase of a new vehicle.

The strategic plan for Sidney Public Schools focuses on three core goals: enhancing student achievement in math and reading through high-quality instruction and comprehensive Multi-Tiered Systems of Support; fostering transparency, common language, pride, and belonging among staff and stakeholders, which includes ensuring financial stability and robust community engagement; and investing in the development and retention of highly qualified staff through systematic professional development practices.

The Sidney Board of Education is committed to fostering academic excellence, supporting staff, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and building strong community partnerships. The goals include ensuring high-quality, standards-based instruction for all students, maintaining financial stability, engaging the community, and retaining exceptional educators.

The special board meeting involved rescinding a previously accepted bid of $43,000 from Peeley Irrigation for foundation work at West, specifically $28,500 for the foundation component. Subsequently, the board approved a bid of $26,500 from Peters and Sons Construction for the foundation work at West.

The meeting included discussions and potential action on certified and classified staff handbooks, student handbooks for elementary, middle, and secondary levels, and moving funds from the General Fund to the Depreciation Fund. Personnel matters included the hiring of Alisha Headley and Abrielle Hoopman as teachers, and the resignation of Madison Emett - Jenkins. The agenda also covered board, administrative, and superintendent's reports, as well as citizen comments.
