The 2026 Update to the Florida Strategic Plan for Broadband aims to modernize strategies and metrics for closing the digital divide and outlining next-generation connectivity goals for the state. The plan organizes its efforts around six thematic areas: infrastructure investment and deployment, broadband data collection and analysis, workforce development, local capacity building and technical assistance, stakeholder engagement and community outcomes, and program administration and accountability. Its vision is to cultivate a connected economy that fosters workforce and community development, education, resiliency, and telemedicine through enhanced broadband availability, accessibility, and adoption.
