Gadsden City Council Council Meeting
The council meeting addressed several operational and financial matters, including the passage of an ordinance to amend city code regarding storm water systems connected to sanitary sewers. Resolutions were adopted to appoint members to the Gadsden Cultural Arts Foundation and the Gadsden Museum of Fine Arts board. The council authorized agreements for utility relocations, police body armor and ballistic vest procurement, and master planning initiatives for Riverside Park and Noccalula Falls Park. Additionally, a supplemental agreement with the Alabama Department of Transportation was approved for road reconstruction, and a new audit firm was appointed for the 2025 fiscal year. The Mayor also provided updates on weather preparedness, the transition of dispatch services to the county, and a new enforcement initiative to address littering.
