The board conducted a budget work session to review and discuss the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget. The Finance Director and City Manager presented changes from the previously proposed budget to the Council for review and further refinement.

The council discussed and approved Change Order 1 for the I-40 Force Main Crossing sewer project, which involves pipe replacement and road work. Retroactive approvals were granted for contract amendments regarding a Community Development Block Grant for the Greenway project and a signal intersection improvement project. Additionally, the council approved an ordinance on second reading to amend the budget for a street sweeper purchase and an ordinance on first reading to amend the fiscal year 25-26 budget for various accounts, including capital and infrastructure projects.

The work session addressed several municipal matters, including requests for temporary street closures for community events, approval of the fiscal year retirement system rate, adoption of the Capital Improvement Plan, and the review of the budget and tax rate ordinances. The Council discussed construction bids and change orders for fire stations, a specification building, and a generator pump station. Additional topics included the approval of a contract for playground equipment, a lease agreement for a building at Meadow Park Lake, an airport equipment grant application, and engineering contract amendments for traffic signal upgrades. Furthermore, the Council reviewed updates to municipal codes and made appointments to various boards, including the Health and Educational Facilities Board, the Housing Authority Board, and the Building Codes Board of Appeals.
