This Instrumentum Laboris serves as a working tool for the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. Its primary purpose is to animate the ongoing synodal process by identifying pathways for the Church to walk together more decisively. The document articulates three priority issues for discernment: fostering a radiating communion, promoting co-responsibility in mission, and establishing appropriate processes, structures, and institutions for participation, governance, and authority. The aim is to open horizons of hope for the fulfillment of the Church's mission and to cultivate an increasingly synodal Church.
