Grey County Council And Committee Of The Whole Council And Committee Of The Whole Meeting
The council addressed several long-term care operational matters. Approval was granted for the single-source purchase of a fire panel and system replacement at the Gay Gables facility. The council also awarded the contract for the building automation system replacement at Lee Manor to Empire Controls, which involved reallocating funds from the capital budget. Additionally, significant discussion occurred regarding a request for additional funding to expand the scope of a study investigating future options for long-term care sites in light of a new provincial renovation funding program. Members debated the value of further investigation, specifically regarding the potential for site redevelopments versus existing challenges related to operational costs and competitiveness with the private sector.
