The Board convened an emergency meeting and student expulsion hearing. Following an executive session to discuss the matter, the Board voted unanimously to accept the superintendent's and administration's recommendation to place student #80009883 on a 365-day out-of-school expulsion.

The board held a special meeting featuring LSIC end-of-year presentations from multiple schools within the district. Principals from Flatwoods, Burnsville, Davis, Little Birch, Frametown, and Sutton Elementary Schools, along with Braxton County Middle School and Braxton County High School, provided detailed reports. These presentations covered academic performance data such as i-Ready and GSA assessment results, attendance metrics, discipline statistics, student engagement initiatives, family involvement efforts, career and technical education (CTE) progress, and successful grant implementations. The superintendent provided updates on county-wide climate improvements, and board members offered remarks recognizing the accomplishments and presentations from each school.

The board meeting included several recognitions, notably for teachers selected for STEM and environmental education honors, a community involvement service award recipient, and numerous student athletic and scholar recognitions. Personnel matters were addressed, including resignations and appointments for various professional and service positions, alongside the authorization to post and hire for several summer-related roles. Additionally, the board approved the 2026-2027 school calendar and granted permission to sell a 1999 Chevrolet truck via public surplus.

Key actions included the approval of consent agenda items comprising payment of bills and budget transfers, authorization of a Memorandum of Understanding for clerical support with the West Virginia University Extension Office, and approval for the purchase of two school buses.
