Bird Island City Council Minutes
The council discussed the Ball Park Complex Joint Powers Agreement, including ownership and maintenance of the ballpark and the purchase of a specific tract of land. Storm water drainage issues on the west side of the school were addressed. Additionally, the council reviewed public works projects such as lead water line replacements, splash pad maintenance, and ball field improvements. The preliminary 2027 budget and levy were reviewed, and the potential early payoff of a USDA loan was discussed. Financial approvals included a pay request for lead service line replacement, the purchase of a fire department turnout gear washer/extractor and dryer, and the acceptance of a state grant and a donation for fire department equipment. Several temporary street closures were also approved for upcoming local events.
