The Finance Committee meeting included discussions and reviews of various financial reports, the 2017-18 enrollment report, and tuition and fees setting process for 2018 and 2019. The Advancement Committee meeting covered updates on fundraising, including the Annual Fund and Giannini Society memberships. Discussions involved donor cultivation, solicitations, and the announcement of a significant anonymous gift to establish the Institute for Performance Innovation. The committee also addressed the hiring of new staff, progress on the Comprehensive Campaign, and strategic Advancement events like NextNow 2017. Additionally, the UNCSA Foundation Board's activities, such as amending by-laws and reviewing governance, were reviewed, along with the UNCSA Board of Visitors' upcoming projects and meetings.
The UNCSA Forward 2022-2027 Strategic Plan outlines four core strategies: Institutional Sustainability (maximizing resources and addressing personnel/operational needs); Maintaining and Expanding Industry Relevance (remaining at the forefront of the arts and entertainment industry); Health and Wellness (prioritizing artist well-being); and Interdisciplinary Work in the Arts (expanding collaborative projects). The plan aims to prepare students for 21st-century careers and enrich North Carolina's cultural and economic prosperity, guided by institutional values of community, collaboration, imagination, integrity, and grit.
