Town Of Ladysmith Regular Council Meeting Minutes
The council discussed and authorized a five-year lease renewal agreement with the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association. Representatives from Tourism Cowichan and 4VI Group presented the Municipal Regional District Tax business plan, and council resolved to support the renewal application for the tax program at a rate of three percent. Updates were provided on recent Cowichan Valley Regional District matters. Council approved a schedule for deliberating the 2027-2031 Financial Plan, confirmed the 2027 meeting schedule, and gave first, second, and third readings to several zoning and procedure amendment bylaws. Additionally, council authorized the cancellation of an upcoming meeting in October due to local government elections and directed staff to send a letter of congratulations to the Ladysmith Celebrations Society.
