The board meeting featured several key recognitions, including a House Resolution offering condolences, the introduction of newly appointed administrators, and accolades for student teams in cyber defense and rocketry competitions, as well as STEM teacher of the year honors. The board approved the renewal of Crime and CyberRisk liability insurance and Student Accident insurance. Furthermore, the board authorized the issuance of solicitations for cafeteria equipment and digital scanning services. Other business included authorizing a solicitation for a lease return bus as recommended by the Transportation Committee and the approval of various student trip requests.

The committee discussed and approved a new policy, EFAB, concerning the Employee and Student Acceptable Use Policy for Artificial Intelligence. The policy establishes guidelines for definitions, ethical use, data privacy and security, and academic integrity standards to ensure the responsible use of AI technologies within the district's educational and administrative environment.

The committee reviewed and approved the awarding of multiple scholarships, including Education Scholarships at $2,000 and $1,000 tiers, BPSTIL Scholarships at $1,000, and two memorial scholarships, specifically the Mildred & AJ Burns Memorial Scholarship and the Pat Wortman Memorial Scholarships, both valued at $500.

The board approved a resolution honoring the legacy of Kenneth Wiggins and discussed the Kenneth Wiggins Memorial Teacher Grant. Procurement actions included the approval of solicitation awards for cafeteria food and supplies, a school bus purchase, fiscal agent services, and the legal journal. The board also reviewed reports from the Buildings & Grounds/Planning & Development Committee and the Finance Committee, which included recommendations for project authorizations at the JMAC Center and Benton Elementary, as well as the adoption of millage resolutions, back-to-school and 13th check guidelines, salary schedules, and the original budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Additionally, the board approved several trip requests and appointed Becky Gray to fill the District 8 vacancy.

The committee meeting addressed two facility usage agreements. Specifically, the board approved an extended facility usage agreement with the Red River Futbol Club for the use of the Airline High School Stadium. Additionally, the committee authorized an extended facility usage agreement with Cyndi's School of Dance for the use of the Airline High School Auditorium.
