The strategic plan outlines four key goals for the Lincoln County School District. These goals include establishing and meeting high expectations for student achievement, creating equitable, diverse, inclusive, and accessible learning environments, ensuring the long-term health and welfare of facilities and finances with a focus on accessibility and technological innovation, and strengthening community relationships through effective communication and engagement with all stakeholders.

The meeting included recognition of award-winning students from Taft High and a special shout-out for a Taft 7-12 CTE teacher. The Board heard a report on the ratification of the recent bargaining agreement. The area report included goals at Taft 7-12, such as classroom work, a writing PLC, and AVID strategies. The draft final fiscal report for the 2024-2025 school year, the regular August financial report, and a bond financial report were shared. The board approved the bargaining agreement between the Lincoln County School District and the Lincoln County Education Association, construction excise rates for 2025-26 and 2026-27, and the hire of ZCS Architects for the Yaquina View Seismic project. The resignation of Liz Martin, Zone 2 Director, was accepted.

The board meeting included reports from Taft Elementary, monthly financial updates, nutrition services, and custodial services. The potential bond updates were discussed, along with policy updates. The board approved budgeted resources transfer and a supplemental budget for a summer learning grant. They also discussed Construction Excise Tax allocations to charter schools and accepted the Superintendent's evaluation. Contract extensions for directors and annual Reduction in Force (RIF) information were reviewed. The Triennial Wellness Assessment was presented. The need to replace the turf field at Newport High School was discussed, along with custodial and nutrition services contract renewals. Public comment was heard regarding school funding and allowing private school students to participate in district athletic programs. The board meeting calendar was also reviewed.

The Lincoln County School District Board of Directors held a regular meeting where they recognized the Yaquina View Site Council members and State Athletic Title Winners. The Board also proclaimed May 5th, 2025, as Teacher Appreciation Week. The LCEA provided a report, and Principal Kristin Becker shared an area report, introducing the new Yaquina View Principal. The March 2025 Financial Report was presented, and reports from First Student and Food Services were submitted in writing. The Board discussed bond updates, summer learning, wildfire funding, and policy updates. They adopted the Discovery Science Techbook science curriculum and approved the extension of the MyPerspectives Language Arts curriculum. Additionally, they approved a cooperative agreement for soccer between Waldport High School and Newport High School and appointed a member to the Budget Committee.

The meeting included the certification of election results for board members and the swearing in of newly/re-elected board members. The board appointed a new chair and vice-chair. Updates were provided on the Preliminary Official Statement (POS), the Director of Programs chart, and policy GCBC/GDBC. The board discussed the district's cell phone policy in light of the state's new cellphone ban in schools. They approved the purchase of Blue Button systems and Intercom Systems, selected a roofing company for the Crestview Heights Phase 2 roofing project, and adopted the Organizational Resolution. The board also discussed the 2025-2026 board meeting calendar and approved amended director contracts. A correction to the Budget Hearing Notice was read, and the board heard a presentation on the insurance renewal package.
