Committee on Free Expression Committee Meeting
The committee reviewed Arizona's open meeting law obligations and the statutory charge requiring the submission of an annual report. The discussion centered on the draft 2026 statutory report, which details how the three universities maintain high standards for free expression, resolve campus conflicts, and adhere to free speech policies like the Chicago Statement. The committee also noted the universities' national rankings in free speech, administrative processes for handling free expression allegations, and the allocation of student activity fees. The meeting concluded with the committee's approval of the proposed report for submission to the board.
